Whitney Diedericks

My Present 

Hello, I'm Whitney, the Head of Client Relations at Fairport. My main responsibilities include maintaining business partnerships directly with the Owners, Owner's Representatives, and the captains regarding the overall services of the yacht and Fairport services. I provide a point of contact for the clients for the services we provide and work with each Fairport department to be a unifying force for the accounts. My overall goal is to communicate openly with the clients and ensure Fairport provides the best management service in the industry.

My favorite part of my job is curating relationships with clients, captains, and colleagues. I find it extremely fulfilling to connect with people and build long-lasting professional relationships.

Being one of the original members of Fairport, the history of this company is engrained, and it has brought me so much happiness with friendships with colleagues along with success professionally.

My Past

In the past, I grew up in Massachusetts and spent summers on the lake and winters skiing in the New Hampshire Lakes Region. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, I spent five years living in San Francisco, where I worked in a stockbroker's office and then sold advertising for a technology-based cable network. I then moved back east and discovered the world of yachting during a summer in Newport, RI, where I started as a yacht broker’s assistant. This led me to meet my yacht captain husband and ultimately settle in Fort Lauderdale, where I began working in yacht management.

My Future

My goal for the future is to continue representing Fairport as the most knowledgeable and ethical management company in the industry. I plan to continue visiting vessels at their home ports and boat shows worldwide, building strong and meaningful relationships with clients, captains, and colleagues.

My Outside Office Life

Outside of work, I am a mother of two boys and two dogs. My husband retired from yachting, and we own a FedEx delivery business in the Florida Panhandle. Weekends are spent on sports fields or on the soft sandy beaches of the Emerald Coast of Florida, with summers exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains and winters skiing in the Rockies.

Fast Facts 

Skiing with my family is where you find me the happiest.  The moment we can do it, we plan to live in a ski town (my husband would like to add that the summers should be on a boat).

I always have a book on the go and love to read every evening. My favorite genre is historical fiction.

I enjoy listening to podcasts, especially on my long commute with my favorite being the American Scandal podcasts.  The Exxon Valdez is the most interesting especially because it ties into the USCG Non-Tank Vessel Response Plan requirements for yachts…my wheelhouse
