Chris Capandonis

My Present
Hello there, my name is Christoher Capandonis. I began my journey with Fairport in early 2023 as the Yacht Compliance Coordinator. Some of my main responsibilities within this role include managing yacht and crew documents and supporting the technical and emergency teams. I also take pride in ensuring resources are in place for safe operation of our fleet and maritime regulations are met with precision and efficiency.

One of my favorite parts about this job is interacting with internal and external clients with different backgrounds and being able to build and foster relationships.

My Past
Hailing from the sunny shores of South Florida, I developed a great passion for the ocean at an early age. While completing my degree at FAU, I knew I wanted to be near the water and began my career in the marine industry working as a dockhand at a few of the local marinas. I transition my career to a more corporate environment, working for companies such as Waldorf Astoria, Wyndham and American Express gaining vast knowledge and experience in other fields. Ultimately, I found my way back into the yachting sector and have not looked back since.

My Future
I am motivated and focused on my commitment to continuous growth and professional development within the maritime industry. By staying abreast of regulatory developments and industry trends, I seek to anticipate and adapt to the ever-changing compliance landscape, ensuring that yacht owners and operators remain ahead of the curve.

My Outside-office Life
I enjoy a variety of activities that keep me active and engaged such as going to the gym, and playing a variety of sports (golf, hockey, and basketball.) I also love traveling to new destinations to explore different cities, their cultures, and the cuisine they offer. Being out on the water with friends and family, whether it's fishing, boating, or just relaxing at the beach also brings me joy.
With Greek and Italian roots, I have a passion for cooking and creating culinary experiences in the kitchen for all to enjoy. I find it relaxing and rewarding to create delicious meals that bring people together.

Fast Facts
My favorite comfort food is gyros and tacos.
A few places that are on my bucket list to visit is Japan and Greek Islands.
