The final quarter of 2016 has seen a flurry of activity in the brokerage market with the SYM team involved in
no less than 6 transactions for vessels ranging from 17 to 35 Meters in length.

As the deals get more and more complicated we are seeing a significant increase in requests from Brokers,
Owners, Captains and Family Offices to help get contracts across the line.

Acting on behalf of both buyers and sellers we are quickly becoming the go to company to ensure all contractual
obligations are fulfilled.

In addition to advising both parties on any technical issues raised during pre-purchase surveys (and completing
these works on sellers behalves) we have found ourselves taking care of much, much more.

These last few deals have involved complicated cross jurisdiction inheritance issues, shipping to Norway &
South America. Exports by sea to Malta and Gibraltar. Re-instatement of RINA Class and MCA coding requirements
needing to be fulfilled.

Ben Young adds “the sales process can be a minefield requiring a complete cross section of skill sets and
experience in areas such as VAT, Technical matters, Classification requirements and day to day practical issues
like arrange the delivery of vessels either by sea or transport worldwide”
