In less than four weeks the Cogs 4 Cancer team will be setting off on their toughest challenge to date – starting from the London HQ of Cancer Research UK and ending in Mediterranean yachting hub of Antibes.
The new route promises to be the most beautiful, and by far the longest distance any of us have ridden to date, with over 30 riders tackling the complete distance of approx 1,500km.
This year’s peloton comprises of a mixture of super yacht captains, senior crew and industry professionals who will start in London on October 4th before heading across the English Channel to Caen in N. France and then travelling south via Condeau, Cheverney, St Amend Montrond, Vichy, Le Puy, Vallon Pont D’Arc, Malaucene, Riez, before finishing up in Antibes.
With donations already exceeding €890,000, the team are inching closer to their target of raising €1 Million by the end of this years campaign.
The whole team is made up entirely of volunteers and we are proud to state that every single penny donated goes to charity. There are no admin costs, all riders and the support crew pay their own expenses – we wanted this to be a true charity in every sense of the word.
Over the years, Cogs 4 Cancer have seen huge sections of the yachting industry get behind this wonderful event and also celebrity endorsements from several superstars such as Rihanna, Novak Djokavic, Roman Abromovich, Sylvester Stallone, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and many many more.
Additionally, we have received support from some of the best known companies in yachting and even managed to get authorities in Italy, Monaco, Spain and France to close roads and give police escorts. Both the palaces of Monaco and Bahrain regularly give their personal support and sponsorship to Cogs 4 Cancer.
We are extremely grateful for all the support to date and hope we can reach the important Million milestone with everyone’s continued stellar efforts.
