BERCO VOYAGER - Spotlight on the 2020 charter season

Since her initial launch in 2018 to the exacting standards of her proud owners BERCO VOYAGER remains an incredibly popular charter.

Since her initial launch in 2018, to the exacting standards of her proud owners, BERCO VOYAGER continues to go from strength to strength on the charter market. With third party charter revenues in 2020 beating those of 2019, we take a look at some of the reasons why BERCO VOYAGER remains such a popular choice!

Led by the incredibly energetic and service oriented Captain Jason McCormack who leads with a positive “you are only as good as your team” and “a day is not a day without a smile” mindset. We recently caught up with Jason and he offered an insight into some of his crew management secrets.

“The camaraderie and trust within the team, ensures a constantly positive atmosphere onboard that filters directly into the guests experience. In the past, I have witnessed palpable tension amongst the crew on other yachts,  and this is something that I am really focused on avoiding.” Captain Jason also emphasized the importance of the Berco Team Philosophy Statement which all crew members are required to align with. This document outlines the importance of teamwork, having each other’s backs, of time keeping and always maintaining the right attitude onboard.

The Sunseeker 131′ offers an incredible amount of volume for its size, a veritable private island away from the madding crowd, where guests can truly explore the wonders of the Meditteranean. With an ability to cruise economically at 10 to 12 knots, but with a capable top speed of 24 knots, this very well stablised platform is rare amongst other similar sized vessels, and achieves this without compromise to any of the onboard areas. Guests enjoy incredible luxury in both the interior and exterior spaces. The crew are very well looked after and the engine room has been designed to offer ease of access for maintenance tasks. A capacious tender garage offers enough storage for the toys that will keep even the most demanding of charter guests entertained.

With all the uncertainties surrounding travel restrictions, and at SYM’s suggestion the boat’s owners took an early decision to to locate BERCO VOYAGER in the Adriatic, as this non-Schengen area seemed the most likely to welcome nationalities from EU and non-EU countries. Low infection rates in the area were a significant factor too and with over 1200 islands to explore we could see this area would be increasingly popular following worldwide lockdowns.

This decision aligned with feedback from other SYM Superyacht Management yacht owners, who were much less interested in the traditional bustling hotspots of Port Cervo and Ibiza, as they look to return to the roots of yachting, and the wonderful search for beautiful and idyllic anchorages. Quality time onboard with friends and family has replaced evenings in packed resturarants and nightclubs. At least for now!

Represented by Superyachts Monaco since its launch, Charter Manager Chloe Riley had this to say:  “BERCO VOYAGER ticks all of the perfect, charter yacht boxes: A beautiful, modern yacht with expansive deck spaces, homely interior, jacuzzi and a garage full of toys. But a successful charter yacht is more than just a beautiful yacht, a positive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew is imperative, and Captain Jason and his crew have a ‘nothing-is-too-much-trouble’ approach, leading to repeat charterers every year and being unaffected by the negative impact that Covid-19 has had (and continues to have) on the charter market. It has been a pleasure to work with Captain Jason one of the most upbeat captains I know and the ever professional team at SYM Superyacht Management, to ensure that every charter offers an unforgettable onboard experience”.

With 4 weeks already contracted we are sure that BERCO VOYAGER, under the command of Captain Jason, will continue to proudly serve her owners and charter guests as people look for the perfect getaway in 2021.

BERCO VOYAGER still has some limited availability in France and Italy for 2021, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch directly with Chloe for further information – [email protected]
