As the summer yachting season in the Mediterranean drew to a close, it was time to arrange the winterisation of some of the smaller but equally important boats in our SYM fleet.
SYM works closely with numerous shipyards up and down the coast and with various storage facilities inland, where we arrange storage for a selection of boats during each winter period, amongst other things, in order to conserve berthing costs for our clients.
Additionally, rather than keeping a boat in the water all year round, out of the water storage enables the longevity of the boat and allows it to be better protected against the elements whilst wrapped and stored in a hangar.
This also enables easy accessibility for our SYM exterior maintenance team as they work through the winter worklists which are personalised to each boat.
For more specific jobs and annual servicing, this out of the water storage is ideal as it allows subcontractors to continue with planned servicing in the dry, away from the harsh weather constraints.
This September saw Perfect White II, a 55′ Sunseeker Predator, head into storage at Firros shipyard in Mandelieu.
Ice white, a 56′ Riva Rivale has headed into storage with Aire de Boom in La Rague and Impatient, a 9.5m Riva St Tropez, is now at Ensign Marine’s storage facility in the Var.
